Should 30 become 300?
A typo (300 was typed instead of 30) made the other night got me thinking...I started doing 30 new things in the month of September. When I started ( a day late) I thought I would behard pressed to fill the whole month with new things. I kept thinking to myself......'If only I could have included: My tattoo....Dancing on stage at Dj Sega....Wrong Prom...etc etc'
I will have to admit my way of thinking has changed from seeing it as a lot of random bits of fun to more meaningful concept. So for the past few days I have been thinking that this is a really good way to live...Ok I admit not everyday do you feel like doing something new, but it's definitely a nice way to achieve the things you want to in life...however silly and ridiculous they seem.
So can I achieve 300 new things?
Should I start another crazy challenge after the last day of September?
I'm not sure I want to do it in such a frantic way. But I am sure I want to achieve certain things and experience a whole lot of random stuff before I die.
Time for me to compile THE LIST...
THE LIST will be a master list of all the things I wanna do...big, small, silly, legal, illegal, safe, dangerous, girly or macho. THE LIST will not be static...it will be everchanging...things added and things crossed out (hopefully because I have accomplished said item!)
Day 20: Life size paste up on The Hub.
What if I took one of my photos from a previous '30 new things' and enlarge it to life size.
So here you have my first lifesize paste up... made in a rush on a busy sunday afternoon. So thanks Cheech for the added inspiration...i thought of you as I was getting paste all over my heels (yes I paste with class ;])
Day 19: Make my photo into a dot to dot!!
Sometimes you feel like just staying in...it's sunny outside, people are walking past my window on their way to the beach, strolling with a morning coffee in their hand...walking the dog...grabbing the newspaper from the corner store...They can have the outside today...after all I found something new to do right here.....
1. Take one ridiculous self portrait..
2. Visit one random generic chainstore shoe website
So kids!!...the moral of this fine story is...never think you must leave the house to achieve something new
Day 17: What tattoo?? Deny everything!!
Like a child with chocolate all over their hands saying they never ate it....I will deny it all. Oh yeah and it was sooo painful when I didn't go to the tattoo parlour and get my tattoo...the one that is not there ;]
"Denial is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence." Wikipedia
Day 3: Disguised as a man.

In my mind I was paying homage to Dali...I should have known this...or at least had the impetus to grab an artbook off my shelf or google it for christ sakes...well anyway I didn't...it was a spontaneous thing...you know...one of those moment s when you grab the eyeliner and draw over the parts of your face you don't usually apply eyeliner to.
It was not until after the deed was done, that I noticed....Dali has not a curl in his moustache.
But you know...if he was a woman I am positive he would!
Day 1: Announce to the world (via a comic strip and the dreaded comic sans font ;] ) that I am learning french!!
What started off as a thing to do jokingly...I have now become a fully fledge language student. Ok yes I am right at the beginning of my journey...but it's exciting and fun. I am really glad I decided to do this!!
Thanks to my french friends who help me often. I hope my questions are not tooo repetitive and boring.
Oh and anyone that is thinking of learning a language...try this site www.livemocha.com....it great

2 eggs
1/2 a vanilla pod or 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
125g softened butter
a few spoons of milk (if needed to make the mixture th right consistency)
Preheat oven to 200 degrees celcius
Add all ingredients into a bowl and blend with a hand held stick blender of mixer until smooth, add extra milk if needed.
Divide mixture into 12 large size cupcake cases.
Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes
Leave to cool
Icing
approx 1 cup Icing sugar
approx 2 tablespoons Butter (Softened)
Juice of 1/2 a Blood Orange
1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
Blend with a stick blender until smooth and creamy
Wait for cupcakes to cool, before topping then with frosting
Garnish with strips of rind or if you like as I have done finely sliced blood orange (use a mandoline slicer)
Carrots for Ki Ki
Carrot dip
6 or 7 carrots
2 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
200g creamy Greek style yoghurt
Pinch of salt
6 or 7 carrots
2 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
200g creamy Greek style yoghurt
Pinch of salt
1 teasp. ground cumin
1-2 teasp sweet paprika
A squeeze of lemon
Grated carrot (either coarsely or finely - up to you...I like finely grated) and lightly saute in the olive oil until slightly tender, but not fully cooked. The aim is just to soften the carrot a little. Let it cool.
Then combine with all the other ingredients. Refrigerate and then serve with turkish bread or toasted lavash. I think this tastes better if made the night before and then left in the fridge. The flavour of the carrot and garlic seems to improve. Bon appetit!!
(I have a photo somewhere, but it's friday afternoon and.......)
