When I feel down I like to look at shoes…it’s not that it makes me feel better. It’s just the opposite. It’s a certain type of self- indulgent suffering. Most of the time I favour pairs that cost more than a car. But at least I can dream and know who designed them and stare in disbelief at the price. Well tonight I was sent well over the edge of self inflicted shoe pain (obviously wearing deadly heels is nothing in comparison. )…That’s right…Tortureville here I come!! Why oh why can’t people put links on their blogs…I saw these dark deadly beauties on the interwebs just now ( I’d link to the site I found them on, but apparently they are not into linkage ;] )…and needless to say I am extremely obsessed and will not sleep well tonight…Although I guess in my dreams; I can haz ORSM Skull bootz. Sweet dreams xx
PS: If you see these shoes anywhere, please bring them home to Momma!!

I love a good fancy dress party! My good friend D is having a birthday party on Saturday. It’s an Alice in Wonderland themed day, with Croquet games etc. I am in the middle of designing some new dresses, my son is home, sick from school and I still need to work out an outfit (poor time-poor me!!). My friend M suggested a female Mad Hatter, as it is not typical. So, as I am always up for a challenge, I will see if I can make this work..
Ok….so what I am thinking is to use a few things I already have and combine with a few newly made items.. I will definitely have to make the hat. And in my mind it needs to be a miniature top hat.
Tutorials for more elaborate designs can be found here and here
I want basic…definitely no lace and frou frou…YUK!! I have studied Millinery a few years ago…so should be relatively easy for me. Better get started…or else I’ll be late for a very important date!! See already Mad…just need the hat
Pretty Ghetto just blogged about the awesome Steven Shein acrylic and plywood laser cut rings, particularly the Diet Coke Head design…..I myself absolutely hate Diet Coke, so would probably go for the Faux Real version (does it come in ‘not pink’???) or the Money over Bitches one….
Will definitely be putting these on my WISHLISTR…hint hint ;]
Speaking of rings….I really like what Timothy Liles has done with the humble crayon…
Tim is a designer living and working in near Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. He studied furniture design and is now a sneaker idea designer for Converse during the week. Meanwhile he has studio space in a co-operative woodshop called Smokestack Studios where he makes things other than sneakers. Lucky Duck!!

Check out these upcycled BlowUp Doll Hoodies by Sander Reijgers of Mama Anders Design
As quoted from his bio:
“I enter a battle between my inner world and the world beyond me. I am looking for a balance between the incentives from the outside to come in and what goes inside to outside. This encourages me to create images. Here I work in the spirit of the collage. I create new concepts by the images change and arranging. I bring different elements together to cause a confrontation, because they do not naturally belong together. In this way, I relativise appearances and sometimes ridicule. “
